Moving from Funds Online?
The Directory of Social Change announced on 14 October 2026 that it is closing, after 50 years of work for the sector. It says Funds Online stays open to existing subscribers for now. If you use it to find funding, here is what Trovu does, and how to start.
What Trovu gives you
- Grants open now for charities and community groups, with deadlines and how to apply, not just funder profiles
- Every grant checked every day, and it says when we last checked
- Matched to your charity, best first, each saying why it suits you
- Funder pages: what each funds and who it has funded, from 360Giving
- Alerts, a shortlist for your team, Excel and calendar
- One plan for your whole organisation, not per user
Start in three steps
- Subscribe From £19 a month, by your income, no VAT. Cancel whenever you like.
- Pick your charity and see the grants open now that suit it.
- Turn on alerts and hear about new grants that suit you, weekly or daily.

Questions
Is Trovu connected to the Directory of Social Change?
No. Trovu is run by Xpdient C.I.C., a community interest company. We're not taking over Funds Online or its data.
Does Trovu have funder profiles?
Yes: each funder has a page with what it has open now, the organisations it has funded and its latest grants. Where Trovu differs is that it starts from grants you can apply for today.
Where does the information come from?
Funders' own websites, read every day; the government's Find a grant service; and 360Giving for who funded whom. Each grant shows when we last checked it.
